Hey everyone,
Writing up my resume and cover letter to apply to some of the Muni Forces in BC, any tips on what to add? I have all the normal stuff, just looking for something that will help me stand out from the rest. Cover letter is especially difficult to come up with ideas for. What do they want?
Thanks

To my knowledge, there's no "fool proof" method that I am aware of that one should use to construct their resume to guaranty their success. And who knows what YOU should put into YOUR resume? Everyone is different. Everyone has different skills, qualifications, life experiences, education, etc. Basically, it amounts to HOW you present your information into a resume that best reflects your strengths and selling points about your overall qualifications you have to offer to a potential employer. There are different resume formats that can be adapted to an individual's qualifications.
I cannot recommend anything specific but I know there are different types of resume builder software available out there that can help you construct a professional looking resume. (Key word is "professional looking." You got to work on effective content about yourself). And, if you go to your library or bookstore, check out the self-help sections for resume books. There are plenty to choose from out there. Finally, if you have the extra money to spend, consider hiring a professional to help you build your resume which best reflects YOUR qualifcations.
Dunno if this is the answer you seek but I think it is definitely food for thought no matter where you live or whatever profession you might be pursuing.
Good luck... -- Charlie
