Hello all! Well, this is my first time posting on this sight; I got to go with the old cliché..."Long time reader, first time poster." Anyway, a little about myself. I am 22 years old from 'H" Division, Nova Scotia. I wrote my Rpat back in March and received a 4.03. Received "the package" in the mail a few weeks after that and went on to run my first PARE in 3:23, in April of this year. After waiting a very long summer for my suitability interview, I finally had it just this past September along with my Security Interview. I am very pleased to say that I passed both. At the moment, I have just completed my second PARE, running that in an improved time of 3:11. I also completed my medical/dental/psychological exams and am currently in the process of undergoing my Background Investigation. I would love to share any type of information with any other RCMP cadets or RCMP applicants both privately as well as publicly on this board. I encourage anybody here who would love to contact me please feel free to do so. I also look forward into exchanging any type of advice as well as get to know any other applicants. ANYBODY, please feel free to e-mail me at cookedave@hotmail.com And hey, if you like, and have it, you can always get in touch with me through MSN messenger! Cheer! And most importantly...good luck to all future RCMP Officers!

Well Mick, I, like you, was very nervous going into my interview. Number 1, what I advise you to do, if you already haven’t, is to download the copy of the interview prep guide on the RCMP web page!!! Once you have this, read it over a few times, more importantly, know and understand each and every competency that is listed in the guide. The interviewer wants you to sell yourself to him/her. Make sure each of your answers follow the STAR principle also found in the prep guide. Make sure you answer with great detail; however do not ramble on and on repeating things. My suitability interview lasted a few hours, however my interviewer made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. Do not worry, your interviewer will understand that you will be very nervous and are human, and will make you feel very comfortable before, as well as throughout your interview. All in all, my interview was a tremendous experience for me and at the same time, believe it or not, was very enjoyable. I hope that my small advice will be beneficial for you. I wish you good luck and I hope that you will accomplish your goal! If you have any other question, I would love to be of help if I can (and if it is allowable). Please don't hesitate to ask!
