Two Punchlines

A women is lying in bed late at night and is awakened by a strange noise.  She reaches over to wake her husband but he is not in bed.  Startled she gets up, grabs a flashlight and trys to find her husband and what is making the strange noise.  She searches the entire upstairs of her home and finds nothing.  She slowly creeps down the stairs and searches the whole ground floor.  Again nothing.  No sign of her husband nor what is making the noise that is louder now.  As she passes the basement stairs she realizes that the sound is coming up the stairs from the basement.  She timidly sneaks down the stairs flashing the light before her.  As she reaches the bottom of the stairs the light catches her husband, naked crouching in the corner, crying his eyes out.  This is the noise that woke her.  Surprised she calls to him,
"Honey whats the matter?"
He replies, "Nothing."
She continues "No, what is the matter?"
"Nothing, I am just feeling kinda blue."
She replies, "Tell me, we always talk about things."
"No."
"Yes tell me please."
The husband replies," Well, remember that time before we were married and your father caught us together?"
"Yes what does that have to do with it?"
"Well remember how he said that I could either marry you or go to jail for 25 years?"
"Yes."
The husband hesitates and continues "Well, I would have gotten out today."

About that time the wife starts crying.
