Hello all,
I'm in the process of applying to the RCMP but I know it'll be a long wait esp. for O div... I figure I could be a volunteer with TPS Aux in the meantime. Do you think they'll consider my application?
Thanks!

Maybe. It definately wouldn't hurt to try. I tried to become an auxiliary with the Codiac RCMP but they told me that they didn't want to train me and then lose me shortly afterwards. I am not sure about TPS but the RCMP (at least the Codiac RCMP) won't take Auxiliary if they are already in the process (past the package stage). I know you are in the background stage presently so that might hurt you. I don't want to dissuade you from applying however. I would love to do it myself. I think it is great experience and definately worth exploring. Lance PS I have a website online about my application process with the RCMP and Halifax Regional Police. If you want to check it out, go to www.geocities.com/mountie2be/index.html

Thanks Lance,
Actually I'm still in the early part of my application...just got my RPAB score back and probably won't be hearing from the RCMP until Oct when they select. I'll head down to the TPS headquarters today and get some more info.

I would apply if I were you. Mind you, be sure that you are forthright about your intentions to become an officer...but you shouldn't rule out being a Toronto copper If nothing else, the Aux interview would help you prepare for the RMSIG, and who knows...you might find out that policing isn't for you.

Hello all,
Thanks for the advice. Went to the TPS headquarter today and filled in an application form. However, still need to get my first aid and basic rescuer certificate in about 2 wks time. I'll definitely be forthright with my RCMP applications...the last thing I want is for TPS to be upset and giving me a poor reference!

Hello all,
Just an update. Got a call from the TPS on Thurs and the lady offered me a conditional offer of employment ;D. Still need to have my medical completed this coming Monday. I read on the Blueline forum that orientation begins on Tues...I'm so excited. Thanks for all the advice guys!
