Let see if we have enough people on this forum for an O div thread. Where we just post info about O div and what we know about the recruitment process. I'll start. TimelineApril 2003 - Info session May 2003 - RPAT October 2003 - Package in Mail (Still have no score) November 2003 - PARE (time 3:36) November 2003 - Sent in completed package Other timeline information Decemember 10 - Package to be in by then. February 2 - PARE to be in. Okay so there is the timeline. Further I have 2 bits of information 1.) There is still people from the April 2003 selection waiting to get their interview. I know one and his interview is in April 2004. 2.) I talked to the recruiter in Windsor and he said I could have my interview anytime between now and 6 months. He said that they had some new staff in O division. He also said they seem quite backed up. He said I should call him back in 4 months because they are that backed up. Well good luck everybody....

Called Recruiting today,
They moved offices (presumably to accomodate more staff) during the holidays, so all progress on files was suspended. They hope to get back on track by the end of January.
I was in the April 03 group, and have had both interviews

More staff is good. And I figured that they were somewhat suspended for the past little while. Should be interesting to see if things start picking up in the next little while. One thing all of us have to worry about in O division is if they lose any files in the move! But I think it should be okay lol

Have any of your contacts been contacted yet? I have close to the same timeline as you and have had a few people contacted but not all of them. Does this call mean your BGI is almost done or just starting?

Well, I'm an O Division guy (Kitchener), so here's my timeline:
Apr/03- wrote RPAT and later did PARE (long wait to get my medical clearance-I'm diabetic) Mar/04- got med clearance and had both interviews Apr/04- got letter that states my BGI is starting staff at the London office say I could be going anytime between Sep/04 and Jan/05 currently waiting patiently Apr 27/04 A retired RCMP Superintendent shows up at my door and tells me he's doing my BGI and that he's almost done! Maybe I'll be going before sept!! May 4/04 only two people left to be contacted by investigator, but no, it won't be before sept that I go even though it seems things are proceeding really quickly. June 1/04 BGI done and it's gone to HQ. Told my meds will be this month and oct/nov might be the sendoff time! Jul27/04 Got a call from my recruiter in London- I've got my top secret security clearance. He asked me if I was interested in a short term civilian contract in Toronto working with a fraud investigation team! I said Yes! so I'm waiting for a call from Toronto for further details. Jul30/04 Got a package saying my final med exams are booked for sept. Cool! Things are moving along!! Sept/04 completed all my med exams -physical, psych, dental, eye, ear, lab work, etc - did my last PARE Sept/04 that's it!! i've done every test, filled out every form, attended every interview and faxed every page of info they need from me. Now I wait... ...it's so close I can taste it!! Nov/04 Well, I thought I'd be in this month but my paperwork from medical still isn't done yet, so it looks like january for me! Dec11/04 January it is!! I got the call yesterday and I start with troop 29 on January 30th! See you all there!

Does anyone know where, in the Kitchener area preferrably, can one get a typing speed certificate?

Longarm how do they know for sure you are not going before Sept? Are all of Ontario's spots full until then?

RCMP is only sending 3 (?) troops to depot during the summer. Could be 4 or 5 but is not the usual 4 per month (under ideal circumstances). So if you haven't gotten a call to go or been told you just need final approval, then Sept would be the earliest you'd go.

Guest- the recruiter in London said I'll be doing my med tests this month, and it usually takes 3 months or so to get it processed, partially due to the fact that the doctors they used to administer the tests usually take vacations this time of year. Also, priority for attention goes to the doctor's regular patients first. Basically, I'm sort of glad for the wait- I want to drop 20 lbs before I go and I'll need the workout time! Gotta look good in the scarlet, right?!

Longarm, I'd be careful about dropping too much weight before the medical testing. I dropped from 195 to 174 in 2.5 months, and I think it caused my liver test to read higher than normal. The liver has to process all the junk stored in fat cells, and by losing a lot of weight quickly, you are putting it in overdrive. I think they just want to make sure your BMI and % body fat isnt really bad. Does anyone know what happens if your final PARE expires before they can send you away? Do you do a final final PARE? Or do you get a thanks but no thanks letter....
