We all know the police do not make the laws or make people break them. Yet the officers are often blamed when someone ends up in jail.
Why is that?
I have an idea but I want to open the discussion and get some opinions of the board.
Thanks!

lich--In my humble opinion... Probably one of the biggest reasons IS cops are more-a-less a living breathing extension of the law! You can't yell at a law book and probably in most cases, you usually don't have the opportunity to yell at the politicians who pass the laws. ;D Another broad factor is, based on my observations, is we seemingly generally live in a more rebellious and defiant society to authority. Commonly, you often hear something to the effect of, when someone is arrested, "The police were just messin' with them because he/she is------." And of course, don't forget, "He/she was arrested for no reason. They were doing NOTHING!" Yeah,...right,...cops just arrest people for doing "nothing"..... Those kinds of statements are often baseless and popular in and of itself BUT, the press and your liberal anti-law enforcement activists and similar groups are fairly successful in getting this stuff in the media promoting their often inaccurate point of view. But they do get the press... And it only seems to be getting worse out there... Just a few thoughts and observations... -- Charlie
