Not 100% sure, but I'm guessing it is similar to Regina's Selection Panel, where you do a 1 hour interview with the Cheif, Deputy Chief, and one other higher ranking member. From what I understand it is just a final sell before they give you a job offer...Have you completed everything else in the process, BG, Poly, psych, etc. ? Remember this is just a guess though. It should be listed on the VPD website as one of the steps in the app process if it is a common thing...

I've done the aptitude test, physical, and I had the panel interview with the three members last week. I've heard rumors that there is an interview with the Chief alone. I haven't been through poly or psych eval. Not even sure if they do those for West Vancouver PD...

You would be well advised to research the recruitment process of the department which you are applying to. This can be done via their web page.

"wear a smart suit and ace 'em ,boyo" ( " L.A. Confidential") .Go in relaxed and to the point ( no grovelling, but simply emphasize your interest in the Dept) Listen attentively and try to tell him the things that maybe you didn't tell the interview board (you don't have to be too personal, but give him an idea of what kind of person you are in relation to the West Vancouver "Blue Family"- this is the man you'll be working for so if he allows it ,ask him some questions about how he got into law enfdorcement( check West Vans web site for any personal Bio info) please know 1) # of officers and at least the command staff names 2) the particular crimes affecting West Van 3) its community make up and what West Van is trying to do to meet their needs 4) the Depts mission/vision statement. (if you learn these, not totally verbatim, you should do well try again as I said to not be overly eager... Good luck......
