I have seen recommendations of 4-6K for depot expenses. Does anybody know what this for? Obviously there is normal consumables of clothes, toiletries, transportation and fun, but what else? Also, do you blow most of your cash in the beginning or is it evenly spread out over the 22 weeks?
Any advice or info is much appreciated.

That is about right. Mine way higher. But, I had car payments and insurancein there as well.
Look at what ever you expenses will be while you are in and add about 4-6K. It is sort of spread out, but you will need to buy, bins, books, school supplies, gun cleaning kit, heat gun, hat press, big ass pile of shoe polishing stuff. Then there are laundry detergent and dry cleaning for pants. Some people op to do there own laundry (ME! Mr. CHEAPO!), but for the "iron challenged" it is more time effiecent to just dry clean all uniform gear. So that adds to the expense. If you like ot go out or grab a hotel room for a weekend that adds more expense.
Trust me, you will NOT find a way to NOT spend money at Depot. Msg me if you have any specific questions on this topic.

Storm....math and I are not friends...but I did do well enough on the RPAT, so I would assume I'm missing something here. Could you help me?
$1078 a $7 sub at Subway once a day for 22 weeks. $707 dry cleaning 5 pairs of pants a week for 22 weeks ($7 pr) $400 books (just a guess) $60 gun cleaning kit $60 heat gun $100 school supplies $40 hat press (just a guess....for some partical board) $200 shoe polish stuff (a guess again) $50 jumbo box of laundry detergent
Now this comes to $2695
So I'll throw in some rcmp gear and clothing that I can't help but buy because I'm so happy to be at Depot.
$600 gear and clothing
Now my total is $3295.
So with weekend outtings with troopmates and a few visits from the girl/boyfriend and/or wife/husband.....you come to the $4000 to $6000?
Did I figure it out or am I missing some major things? I suppose the phone calls home add up too. Oh, and that flight home at Christmas for those going to Depot in the next few months.
Did I answer my own question here.....god how things add up!

Obviously we should save as much as possible. I would also suggest to put some money aside for first and last months rent (or mortgage), car payments and spending money for two months after Depot. I'm under the impression new recruits will not be on the pay period for at least a month or so after graduation. It takes awhile to get on the payroll.
