Hello, i was wondering what types of hours PA state troopers work ? Is it mandatory swing shifts and does that ever change as you progress along the job ? Thanks for any input.

NO idea for sure, but I would guess that state troopers work around the clock, otherwise the bad guys would only drive at night... ;D I would think that they have 3 or four shifts in a 24 hour period to allow for overlaps, and that you would go from days to nights to afternoons to days to nights to.... get tthe idea. I'm sure that you would recieve shift differential for the graveyard shifts, and I seriously doubt that it would change until you moved up in the force...promotions to higher positions...unless you were working adesk and not the hi-ways....
Or I could be completely out to lunch since I'm in Canada... ;D

Why not surf the net and find the PST web site to see if they have anything posted about the information you seek? Most LE agencies have published web sites that often have an abundance of overview information about their agency. I have never seen the PST's official web site but I would suspect you might find some answers to your questions. AND,...if they don't have this published, I'd be willing to bet they have some sort of a contact email address available. Why not drop them an email direct about your questions? What better place to get your answers but from the source directly??? ;D -- Charlie
