Hi guys, i have a question regarding the pre polygraph book. Today when filling it out it said to list the activities planned, known about or engaged in that were criminal, i had a hard time listing all the activities i knew about i did list all the crimes i committed and am pretty comfortable with that section. However as i wait for my polygraph call should i try and recall all the things i remember from HS and college that were criminal, also " try not to laugh" there was a question regarding sexual contact with animals, at first i laughed at this question and answered no then i realized on my way home my girl friends dog got alittle friendly one day and tried to do the nasty with my leg should i inform the polygrapher about this info thanks

Don't mention the part with the dog. The question is about you intentionally engaging in such acts. Make sure you stick to the statements you made in the book. If you try to alter it you will find yourself failing the test since you walk in seeming to have attempted to deceive them with your initial statements.
Good luck.

The animal comment brought back a memory from the Info Session with Calgary Police... The Sgt. was giving us all the standard info, and when he got to filling out the disclosure part he specifically mentioned that "If you didn't actually engage in sexual intercourse with an animal, I DON"T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING AT ALL!!" There was a pause and everyone kinda looked at each other...To which the Sgt added, "Up until a couple of years ago, I didn't know it wa actually possible to masturbate a tom cat. But now I know what someone has been up to when their arm is all scratched up..." Sorry that was a little off topic but still a funny story, maybe you had to be there As for the pre poly book, as long as you filled it out to the best of your knowledge, that's all you can do. Try not to sweat it too much. The poly is hard but not impossible. ;D Of course I'm sure George will have something to add to this.

LOL ok thanks, what i meant was that i did list every activity i engaged in, however i may have read to much into the question asking to list any criminal activity committed that you were aware of. for example in Highschool i would hear stories from people about them tearing out mailboxes or i remember one kid talking about how he smashed into another car and kept going. These things came to my mind after i left the session.

If you weren't directly involved then your fine. If you were there or were an accesory or something then you would want to disclose it. Your not responsible for other people's stupidity. ;D

A lot of people have the problem that after they fill out the questionaire they start to think of all the possiblities they might have missed. My advise is after filling out the form... stop thinking about it. You will have a clearer conscience if you don't think of the all the "should have included" items.
If you don't think about it... the poly can't pick it up, even if it is just nervous

I agree with Porl there totally. If you walk in thinking about how many mistakes you made when filling out the form, you're going to throw off your reactions to the questions and call the attention of the examiners to the areas about which you're concerned.
Just relax and stick with the statements you made in the packet.
Good luck.

Along those lines, I am filling out my book too, and I engaged in insurance fraud awhile back (friend who was drunk hit me, I didn't want her getting a DUI, so i claimed it was hit and run). Will that screw me?

Alex,
That is NOT a good thing...that may even be something that they would consider charging you for. I would tread carefully with that one. Possibly contact your recrutier anonamously and run the senario by him/her and see what they say...I don't know what to suggest, but it's not a minor thing like swiping a 50 cent candy bar. Tough decision...
