Hello to all As a one year vetern of this site just thought I would update on my progress. For everyone who is still trying to get hired, get interviewed or just interested. Go for it, dream big and never give up. I have been on my own as a patrol officer with my police department ( 230 officers in a city of 160,000) for 90 days now. It has been a rewarding experience interlaced with numerous challanges. There have been many exciting times some stressfull some not so. The addrealin rush you get when its 200 AM, your backup is still in route, and the car you just stopped with 4 occupants comes back as stolen or the time running into a burning home to help an 80 year old get outm is unforgettable. This career is my third and I can say the most rewarding. Just remember that when you have a problem with your goal. It is worth the fight. If I were to describe police work I would say, it is long periods of utter boredom, interlaced with numerous, brief, peiods of sheer terror, all wraped up in the feeling of satisfaction that you served the community just by being there. Good luck to all, email me if have any questions. And a couple of you T. Kote and Drakor owe me some replies. TJ

I'm glad to hear that everything is working out for you. You are living the dream that a lot of us have. Remember THAT when things get tough. The grass is always greener... It is encouraging to read a post like yours. When you get wrapped-up in the "process", sometimes time seems to stand still. I haven't run into any snags yet, but I just feel like Murphy could always be around the next corner. Anyway, thanks! And be safe!!!
