Alright Ladies and Gents, I need to throw a question out to you all. I have the detective coming to the house tomorrow morning to see how I live and all. Question is, should I dress up like I would on an interview? Should I have the house nice and tidy? Thanks in advance to you all.

All the officers that I've talked to told me that they dressed up for every step of the process. I've always found that if I'm a little over-dressed, it's no big deal. However, if I get into a situation where I'm under-dressed, then it's kinda' embarrassing. So, I try to error in the direction of least embarrassment. You want to appear professional. I would certainly clean the house. The detective probably won't think anything of a spotless pad, but if you don't tidy-up, he may wonder why you didn't take his visit serious. I'm sure you're excited and probably a little nervous. Good luck, you'll do just fine! ;D

What department are you processing with? Is this your last step into getting into the academy?

No, this isn't the last step for the dept. Apparently, the in house interview went great. The dect. and I hit it off and bonded. The next step is the pysch and then the final step is med. He said if you get the med exam, all you have to do is pass is then your automatically in! So, I'm hoping for the best. Btw, it the Jersey City PD. Take care all!
