Does anyone have any information, or links to websites, concerning applications or new hire process to be hired on as an Airport Cop within the US?

Since you are online, check http//www.officer.com. then look under the state or states you would be interested in living in .Here on the West coast theres the San Diego Harbor Police (starting pay,$45-56,000/yr),L.A. Airport Police,$51,000-68,000/yr, Port of Portland PD- $45,000- 60,000/yr, SeaTac (Seattle-Tacoma,WA) PD, $42,000-62,000/yr. I don't know about many of the East coast Airport Agencies, but some , if not most are controlled by the County( as in Detroits' Wayne Co Sheriffs) or the State Police (Maryland operates the Airports that way). There are some differences, but mostly the work is similar to municipal law enforcement(especially here in California) so prepare yourself as you would if applying for like Pittsburgh City PD.There are rewards as well as drawbacks to working in "specialized law enforcement"(some times the pay is better or worse than municipal pds, sometimes there are greater or lesser promotional chances, sometimes the work environment is better, and sometimes the amount of respect from the public can be better or worse than a local PD). do the "homework", prepare your self...
