;D Greetings all. Hope this one finds everyone doing well. Got a question and I figured you fine folks would be the ones to ask. I've got about six months before the next testing cycle opens up for the local PD. I'd like to get my hands on a real good test guide, but there are so many of them out there that I'm not sure which one to get. They range in price from 15 to 38 dollars. I've seen Barrons and a couple of others, but wich one is the most effective for the most economical price? You are all in my prayers, and I look forward to hearing from everyone. Till them, God Bless

getta, if i were you i would try and find out what kind of written test the dept administers, then look for a guide. the reason i say this is b/c some depts written tests are more like a a.c.t. exam. in other words the test consists of reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, etc. most tests are like that in my area. unfortunately i learned that the hard way. i purchased a exam study guide and it was of little help to me . luckily having spent most of my young adult life in school the test was still a breeze ;D. i think the book i bought was called "police officer examination guide," it may have been by cliffs. it was a pretty decent guide, it offered a few different tests, situational questions/respones and alot of other useful info. i hope i was of some help. junior 8)

Gretta, I bought both Barrons and Cliff's books. Unfortunatley I had the same problem except the last test where the police exam books helped. Since most test are the sort of grammar, spelling and comprehension, the preparing for the GED helped a lot. It has all the english and math stuff you would need. Hope that helps you out. ;D good luck. Glenn 8)
