I have heard that if you scored to high on the IQ test (or whatever test they give you) in the preliminaries, that you could not become a police officer. Is this true? I'm sure that I will get a reply of, "that's absurd", but than why would a really intelligent person want to become a police officer anyway (just kidding)?

Mike; There have been a few cases where a candidate was "Overqualified". That is he/she had many degrees, as much as a PhD.
The Board realized that this candidate would very soon become bored with being a cop, and would leave after a short time, therefore, they decided not to hire this candidate.
A high score alone on the entrance exam would not disqualify a candidate, so do your best, the others will be doing their best.
Good luck. JimCMR
