Hello all.
I have a question about college credits/degree. Obviously, a 4-year degree is a plus. However, I am short a full 4-year degree by about 5 or 6 credits. (To make a long story short, I majored in Biology, but I left prematurely due to a good job offer that I got at the time in a different field - I.T. I never officially graduated college, and over the past 3 years have decided that I probably wasn't going to finish my degree in Biology.)
Is that technically a problem when a department requires a 4-year degree? Or would they most likely accept the fact that I have 4 years college experience, and have over 3 years of work experience under my belt?
Thanks all.

inca_jones--I don't know for sure but I would suspect that if someplace requires a "4-year degree," it means just that. you'll likely need to get a piece of paper that says you got your degree.
On the other hand, some places might be flexible about this and might go along with considering your experience as well. As always, it largely depends upon WHO you put an application with and how flexible they might be about this.
Just my humble opinion.

Inca;
If a department requires a 4 year degree, there is usually no way to give someone a pass if they are short a few credits, where would you stop? Other candidates would scream that they were cheated out of a spot by someone who got a "pass".
So, your best bet is to finish up that degree if you are planning to test with a department that requires 4 years. Even if you take 1 class at a time, it will be worth the effort.
Have a good holiday.
