I just finished my polygraph about a week ago. They had me fill out a paper that asked questions about driving record, criminal record, employment history, and credit history. You are supposed to answer truthfully to each question. However, when I actually took the polygraph exam, the questions were very basic when referring to these four areas. For example, they would ask "have you withheld any infomation on your personal history?" They ask the same questions 3 times, that way they have more than on grouping to go off of, especially in case where you might just be nervous. They were extra friendly and helpful. They did tell me that they thought something about my employment history seems like it bothers me, and showed me the graphs I didn't withhold any information, but they did say that of any of the topics to be ify on, that is the best one, because they can research that. I don't know how it will go. They will be reporting the info to my BI. If I pass this, then I will go on to the boards (an easy one for me) and then I will be all done! Anyways, we shall see. Just relax is the best advice I can offer. I made a funny mistake and accidentally answered yes on a question I meant to say no on, but they said that is common with the nervousness! Best of luck, Shawna

Santiago, Regarding what to expect, and how not to fail a polygraph "test," see Chapters 3 & 4 of AntiPolygraph.org's free book, The Lie Behind the Lie Detector, which you can download at: antipolygraph.org/pubs.shtmlTo read the comments of others regarding their experiences with the polygraph, see the AntiPolygraph.org message board at: antipolygraph.org/cgi-bin/forums/YaBB.pl

the questions were very basic when referring to these four areas. ---------------- Hey thatgrrr I was curious for what dept or at least which state this polygraph was given? I suppose you can call the questions basic, but they definetlly touch upon every area of drug history, school, work etc. that you can have trouble with. A friend of mine took it for a police agency in the mideast & the investigator asked if he had ever paid for sex, he responded no and afterwards the investigator told him ok you seemed to have lied/had trouble with the sexual referenced questions. I Know of this friend very well and he is a shy person, so obviously something such as a conversation about sex with a stranger will make his heart beat faster. (Im certain he hasnt paid for sex), long story short he got the job, but the investigator definetlly made him sweat for it. His persistence in denying any false hood did him well.
