I wrote the RPAT on December 10 and received the results today. I scored 4.29 out of 5. What kind of score does the average successfull applicant get? Should I least get called for the PARE test? I'll point out that I have been working as a Temporary Civilian Employee for the RCMP for 6 years in Ottawa. I have Top Secret security clearance. I haven't asked anyone at work these questions because for now I've been wanting to keep my career aspirations quiet as I know everyone will constantly be bugging me for information on how the application is going. That would only put more pressure on me to do well. Plus at my age of 42 I don't need to hear that I'm crazy or I'm too old. Last year a 53 year white male graduated from Depot and a 49 year old grandmother graduated just before that. I still have hope. Thanks.

Your score is very high. When I scored a 4.25 I phoned the recruiter and asked the same question because I had no idea, but, she told me that in that writing across there were only a couple that came close. She sounded as though it is more unusual than anything else. So dam rights you will get a call to do your pare, good work!!!!

In that case, congratulations on your 4.25 as well! At least I'm starting off on the right foot. So Robb, at what stage is your application at now? Thanks.

Ofcourse you will receive an application with a score of 4.29.... but that is as far as your score will get you.
After that everyone is on a level playing field again and your main goal should be working on yourself to be as ready as possible for the interview (including passing the pare and being physically fit).
Good Luck!! and don't worry about your age at all, definitely had older in my troop.
Also just to let you know... already having a top secret security clearance doesn't speed things up. I did too, along with quite a few other applicants I know and they just redid it anyways.... makes sense that they would have to.
