Just wondering how many of you in here are applying to the RCMP...that and how far along you are in the process!
I'm just waiting for my call to go to Depot...and waiting, and waiting...oh, and still waiting!!
Good luck to you all

I do not understand what everyone out there is waiting for. Have you guys not applied to any other agencies? I guess if you had you would have been hired long ago. You can complete the process with most Canadian agencies before you even get your RPAT score back!!! I do realize that many of us out there dream of becoming Mounties, but, the RCMP routinely gets the lowest job satisfaction ratings of Canadian Police services. But, if its your dream then stick with it my friend! It will happen soon enough.

As for why people only apply to the RCMP there is the reason of convienence but for the most part it is because the RCMP is one of the proudest organizations in Canada. It is 138 years of tradition. We are one of the most respected forces in the world and once you are in you have friends all over the country. So I don't know where the statistics come from but I believe they are misleading.

Has anybody heard any news about "the new year and recruitment allotments"? I heard that the RCMP were hoping to have more recruits going to depot in the new year compared to last year. Anyone else hear that?

I have been hearing for about a year now that the RCMP will be hiring approximately five thousand officers in the next five years. There recruiting situation is pretty much the same as most in Canada. I have heard many times that of all the officers in the many departments in BC, under have can or will retire in the next five years. I live in Calgary, and I know that the recruitment situation is in the news quite often. It sounds like great news for everyone out there who wants to get on.

I'm applying for the RCMP. I actually made the interview last year, but was defered for a year due to a credit card which almost went to collections. I got the feeling that I did well on the interview, otherwise I would have been kicked out of the process. Does anyone know about this situation? Have they heard of anybody being defered before? I'm not sure if it will be good for my next try or not. I have to go through the whole information meeting and rpat stuff again. Oh well.

Hey I have heard a ton of people that have got "deferred". Most people don't even get into the force in their first time applying. Keep your head up and atleast they are interested in you! Just take care of their requests and keep pushing. Blood, sweat, and tears, but you will get there. Warlo
