i was wondering, is the appeal process advisable if your dq'd? my friend who was in the process along with me recieved a letter stating that he was removed from the process because of honesty? but the letter stated that he can appeal it? what are the chances with appealing, and how long does that take? he was in the process with LAPD if you were wondering. any answers please. she's really heart broken about this situation. but i believe that she still has a chance because she can appeal this matter. (honesty) was her d'q.

Was it do to the polygraph or during the submission of the back ground package(Despite what Geo.Maschke sez,YOU CAN APPEAL THE POLY!!) . They will give her, upon request for appeal ,that section or item under scrutiny. But advise her to be truthful and point out in clear and concise terms any and all explanations to the "deviations" in her background that led to the dishonesty D'Q. She should do this even if she isn't picked up by LAPD,'cause it could come up again if she applies for another agency-seen it happen,Quite ugly thing!!! When ever anyone applies to an agency, they should keep copies of the documents turned in- tell her to do the same...

I'll check as I'll be down at city hall tues( and could go over to P.A.B )-but , if I were to guess, i'd say 4-8 weeks. And again, it depends on exactly what public safety said was the reason(they do have to disclose, to a certain extent, what the exact reason was) tell her to be patient and go over it again, particularly if she has been assigned a background investigator(he or she would also know)

does anyone know how long before you are notified about your appeal status? and if you do win the appeal would a candidate be placed back in the hiring process? or does a candidate have to wait a certain amount of time before he/she is returned to the hiring process with LAPD? thanks
