Just to update for those interested in applying for the Calgary Police service. All classes are full for this spring and summer. They are hoping to have classes starting in the fall, but no dates if any are slated as of yet. The best is to check out their web site for the lastest information. As I was in Calgary for testing,I did get the chance for a ride along. Calgary is on top of my wish list. My thoughts on the ride along are..wow. I hope to pass all the tests and interviews. Keeping in mind that even if I do, still doesnt mean I will be accepted. They still choose the best applicant that they think is the best for the job. I feel that I am, and I hope that they think and feel the same way. I do have the goal ahead of me and that is to be hired by the Calgary Police Service. For the rest of you out there, no matter where you are applying, Good Luck.
Until next time, keep your stick on the ice.

hi glenn (and everyone else)
just another wannabe cps starting out on this message board, and you look like the most in the know on this topic. i made it pretty far along with calgary, but had to withdraw until this summer, so i'm just marking time right now and until i can reapply. how is your application going? have you heard any dates for testing, interviews or recruiting trips this summer? you're out in bc right? whereabouts? i grew up in delta & calgary, but am stuck in winnipeg right now. glad to hear you enjoyed the ridealong - i think it should be part of the recruiting process, so people can get an idea of what they can expect and see if it's for them. i've done a couple already with cps. anyway, drop me a line sometime and let me know how your application is going. good luck to everyone.

Dave, I will be going back to Calgary sometime in July. I don't have a date for the interview yet, but I am looking forward to it. I really want to have a career in Calgary. The ride a long that I went on, confirmed this for me. The officer that I went on the ride a long with was very helpful and encouraging. We got along very well.It was a eventful night, so I was able to see how things operate in Calgary. I was very impressed with their equipment and the friendlyness of the other officers that I met that night. They dont have any training dates as of yet, but they anticapate training classes this fall if everything goes well for them. The G-8 summitt is taking alot of their resourses and time for now. Their web site has just started to post the next info sessions and testing. I sure more will be added. They keep updating their web site, so be sure to keep checking it out for the most reliable information. I have passed the written tests and my pare time is good for nine months. But of course I will make sure I keep in shape by working out. Now on to the interview, can't wait, hoping for the best. Anyways, good luck in your pursuit.....no pun intended.
Until next time, if the women don't find ya handsome, they should at least find you handy.. 8) Glenn
