IAM  29 YRS OLD AND HAVE DECIDED I WANT TO BE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT I HAVE JUST APPLIED TO 3 DIFFERENT AGENCIES IM PREPARED FOR THE EXAM AND PHYSICAL BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS POLYGRAPH MYINFO SHEET FROM MY APP STATES THINGS LIKE"COMMISION OF UNDETECTED CRIMES OF A SERIOUS OR REPETITVE NATURE." ALSO CRIMINAL ACTIVITY OF A SERIOUS NATURE OR REFLECTS MORAL TURPITUDE OR INDICATES A TENDENCY TO DISREGARD THE LAW...MSO WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE..MY PAST IS PRETTY MUCH CLEA N THE ONLY..BUT WHEN I WAS 16 I WORKED IN A HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE MY CO WORKERS WERE WERE 10-12 YRS OLDER THAN ME  (PEER PRESSURE)AND WERE RUNNING ASCAM WITH THE SECURITY GUARD  SELLING LUMBER AND THINGS LIKE THAT TO CONTRACTORS.SO MY QUESTION BASICLY IS HOW WOULD THE DEPT REGARD THAT..I HOPE YOUTHFUL POOR JUDGEMENT DOES NOT COME BACT TO HAUNT ME...ANY HELP WOUL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

it really will depend on the dept and how "forgiving" they are.  your best bet is to be honest, and offer a good explanation.  hopefully you have kept your nose clean since...it will help.  kids do stupid things, you are 29 now i am sure you have matured to a certain degree.

whatever you do, DO NOT try to beat the poly.  it could come back to hanut you.  i have a friend who admitted during the poly to stealing over $1,000 from his fomer employer.  he too was a young kid.  his honesty paid off, he was hired under the condition that he tell his former employer what he did.  now he is a fine police officer in one the best depts in our area.

if i were you i would not rely to heavily on the "peer pressure" defense.  you may mention it, but take responsibility for what you did.  i hope what i said has eased your mind a bit.  be honest and good things will happen.  good luck and keep us posted.
