I am a 20-year-old male who is interested in Law Enforcement. I have interested in LE for a long time, but just recently have gotten serious. I plan to earn at least an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. I have also participated in Police Explorers (sponsored by Boy Scouts of America) off and on.
My questions are this:
1. My work history has been scattered for lack of a better word. My longest length of employment was 8 months. All but one of my jobs I have left with an open door to return. My leaving was mostly due to family moves and lately taking schools with a large Christian Mission Organization.
Could this an issue for a department?
Also when I was 17 I walked out on a job at a grocery store. This was a mistake I learned from and regret. Could this work against me?
2. I plan to pursue employment in Security through college? Would this type of job be seen as positive?
Thanks for your help, Caleb

Caleb;
At age 20, your job history does not appear to be a problem, you now have a chance to improve on it.
The security job in many cases is a good thing for background, some departments may not like it, but the majority will find it valuable, just do a good job, and do it well.
Good Luck. JimCMR
