Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to get some feedback on how you think I am doing. I turned in my first application a few weeks ago to an agency that got a federal grant to put 8 more officers on the road. After turning in my application I got a time for the written test. I went to the test and they said if you score 80% or better you will get an oral interview. A year ago when they gave this test they had to many people pass at 80% so they made the test harder. If they don't have enough people pass at 80% they will lower that number so they have enough people to interview to put the roster together.
I scored a 76 on the written so I didn't think I would hear anything more due to my score being under 80. Then a week later I got a phone call that they wanted to schedule me for an oral interview. I was very excited. This would be my first oral. They said the written only means who will get an interview. Your score on the oral will determine your placement on the roster. Everyone at the oral board was very nice and I felt pretty good about it when I left. They said they would let me know where I placed on the roster. I wanted to know where I placed because this would tell me how well I handled the oral.
Then a few days later I got the results on the roster they have put together. Out of 96 people on the roster I placed number 28 due to my oral score. This was a lot better then I thought I would do because this was my first ever oral. Do you guys think I stand a pretty good chance? I must have said at least something right on the oral.
Anyway I have another oral tomorrow with a different agency. I hope to do as well as on the last. It would be nice to have something lined up by August because the place I work now is closing then. So wish me luck.
