My only concern about my eligibility concerns my credit. Although all of my accounts will be up to date within 3 months or so, and paid in full within the next 8 months, I did have about 2-3 years where I had several accounts go to collection and/or be charged off as a loss. No Bankruptcy, lawsuits, or public records of any sort, just a really poor payment history for like 2-3 years. I am hoping my other qualifications will offset this. These include 4 years in the USAF, an A.A. degree, and by the time I want to apply, 30 credits towards my B.A. degree. Any thoughts will be appreciated!

Dave--If this all that looks bad for you, I'd say youshould be OK especially if there's been some time between you and when all this stuff with your credit occurred. I think it might become, depending where you apply, an issue that may require some sort of a viable explanation from you. BUT, I would tell it like it is. And also remember there are cops out there with bad credit too and they're still cops!
I don't think this will permanently disqualify you but it might cause some difficulties for you. Remember also that agencies look at your WHOLE package and qualifications. I would perhaps consider contacting some recruiters and throw this question at them about your credit. See what they tell you. At least this way you'll know where you stand. ;D
