Well, I just got back from my ride-along with a department im applying to. I got there around 8:00 when the ride was at 8:30... showed up and what happens but all the cops leave the station to a burglary in progress.
So I go into the station and tell them that I am there for the ride-along and they tell me "well everyone is gone right now" so i end up waiting for 2 hours on a hard wooden bench with no one around... its now like 10pm and the police chief actually comes in and talks to me... his wife is with him and was suprised i was still there after such a long time and was like "your very patient" "I hope your an applicant" jokingly... and I was like... well actually, I am. hehe. so i was supposed to re-schedule.. but one of the officers that came back decided to just take me with him so i got to do it. Not my first ride along but was still fun none the less.
I also guess I made a decent first impression on the police chief for sitting there so long with out taking off. So I guess that can't hurt.. Well next thing i have to do is go for the oral board, which i have to sign up on monday for. Fill you guys in with the rest later.
