Here I go again...

Hey everyone. Just an update for me. I originally made it to the last phase of testing for my chosen department and was rejected. I get to test again in September.
While I've been waiting, I've met a few officers who've been a great source of help and inspiration to me. I was invited to run with a couple of cops who really opened my eyes to what a typical day of PT in the academy will be like. I thought I had been preparing myself but I was HURTING after that!! I struggled through most of it, wondering if I had made a serious mistake in deciding on such a career. They cut me no slack in the work out but at the end I couldn't have been more grateful. Even though they had to wait for me twice (for a total of 10 push ups) we started together and we finished together. Advice to others, if you're getting ready for the academy, take the departments recommendations to prepare, meet them and then exceed them.

Jacqueline--Thanks for passing that on! ;D And, be positive about what may happen when you get the chance to trst again in September. Always remember, it is not uncommon for someone to apply and process for a LE agency more than once before finally getting hired!

Keep training and perhaps you'll finally get your foot in the door the next go round.

You gotta keep on working hard Jacqueline and you gotta want it enough to feel the pain with the promise of what your acomplishment will bring.September is a short time away so keep on working hard and you will be rewarded.On these boards you have all the support of the entire family of future LE officers.We all feel the pain but the satisfaction is yet to come.A great inspiration is past post from some of the older members like Romano,Dokar and others,you are not alone....hang in there kid.

Hey Shawn! Glad to see you're still around! Get in touch and let me know where you are in the scheme of things and what decision you made. As far as the Chief, go figure, I get passed over for experimenting with weed and he gets the top job after what he did! Go figure, anybody wonder why Durham is going to the toilet? Anyway, I'm still working on things. All is well so far. One week to go.
