Its now a week and a half gone by from the day my refrences were supposed to be called. I am really starting to worry that something has gone wrong, either my file has got misplaced or something. The class is supposed to begin on October 24 meaning not much time left. How much longer do u think I should wait before I call into the office to see if something has gone wrong, maybe my backround investigator thinks that I am not intrested since i have not called. I have restrained my self from calling to not look like one of those people who constintley do just that.

Bob,
You are going to have to tell us what department you are applying for. If it is the RCMP then I wouldn't worry about it unless you haven't heard from your references in about a month or two. Seriously. What do you mean the class starts October 24? I can only assume that you are not applying to the RCMP.

;)Chill Bob, I can tell you from experience that BIs checking with your references isn't 100 percent. If your class doesn't start until Oct 24 then you have plenty of time. Sweet Draw and I are waiting for a Sept 18th class and we still have polys and orals to do. Sometimes they postpone classes if they don't have enough people for them. Calling and harassing your perpective department will get you the thanks for applying but we have better qualified individuals. What I'm saying is don't sweat the fact they haven't contacted your references what you need to worry about is the call telling you to report for the next part of the process. I'm guessing the next step is the poly. I know the excitement is killing you but you goto remain patient. Good Luck ohhh what department are you applying to and see if you can go on a ride along and ask tons of questions.

Near toronto, we dont have polys in Ontario. Last step, next will be the offer of employment.

;D Thats cool then the next phone call should be to inform you of your hire date. Still if it gets to October and still no word then a quick little hello how ya doin wouldn't hurt. Just a simple call to inform your investigator if he needed anything else from you and the the fact you were just checking in to check your status. Most references are inform not to let you know they received your reference letter. Many are friends will let youknow anyway. Good Luck K.U.P.
