Hey all, Well my summer position finished up this labor day weekend. I showed up on tuesday to return my issued things and they told me to keep them!!! Looks Like they are going to keep me on for the entire year. They said they want me to go to all the mandatory training through the year that the full timers go to. they are going to train me for the cruiser, shotgun and o.c. gun. I already have my sidearm qualification. I am pumped!!! I was really getting bumbed out about not being taken on full time yet by an agency, but this kind of thing can sure cheer you up.
I am going to probably be called in once or twice a week the Lt. said. That would be pretty cool. Lots of hours considering I still have a full time job otherwise.
My wife is real supportive of the whole thing...she knows how important it is to me. I have a six year old boy who thinks it is just cool as hell that his dad is a cop. I also have a one month old little girl. It is because of her I think that maybe putting off the academy for a little while might be a good thing anyway. The baby doesn't sleep through the night yet, and if I left my wife with her and the boy, I probably wouldn't have a wife to come home to after academy. ;D
Well thanks to all for your help and answers. I'll keep you posted as to how I do.
