Its been about a month and a week now since my refs were supposed to be called. So las t week I just wanted to shout in and maybe just let my backround investigator know that i had another piece of information for her. I left a message on her machine and still have no answer from her, starting to make me think she may have taken a leave of abscence or something what do u guys think.

Bob--Chill out! ;D You'll find out something soon enough. Do you think you are the only person they are checking on? I doubt it.
Sit tight and don't be a pain-in-the-butt. You will likely find out something sometime soon. On the other hand, and depending upon whatever the norm is for the agency you've applied with, IF a "significant period" of time passes by and you don't hear anything, then it might be prudnet to give the BI a call to check your status.
