Hey all, I've thought about it and I'm still going to try for a PD somewhere. Unfortunately I'm moving to a little town called Sugar City...I don't even think they have a PD. That's ok though, I found a Junior College that's about 30 mins away in another town that has a Law Enforcement Academy...while this is a good thing, it's also a bad thing. So I need some more advice. ~l~ My Fiancee is finally cutting back on the drinking. ~Thanks whoever might be up there~ Anyhow, we're moving as I said before, registration for this course is due in Dec. and the Classes start in Jan - April 15 weeks mon-fri 10 1/2 hrs a day of study and training...so I suppose my question is. After moving would it be too soon do you think to start school? Should I wait until the mid summer classes? If I don't take it next year, I'll have to wait until 2004 when their classes come up again. I would rather just take them in Jan and get it over with, but I'm concerned that between getting a part time job and not seeing my family...well I don't want my fiancee to slip back into old habits if you get my drift. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks.

Regarding school don't put it off. The sooner you get started the more likely you are to finish your pursuits of it. In reference to your fiance some departments will also do background investigations on who ever you are involved with before they choose to make an offer. Some of the departments I have been a finalist for have asked me to document all information about family members and ofcourse anyone I am involved with. Your fiance's habits will impact your personal and professional life, so I advise you make them hold to their efforts to correct the issue. If they don't move forward in life without them for the sake of your personal and professional well being. Good luck and best wishes to you.
