Question for everyone out there, Do they check your financial background like credit card companies or credit history because In the past I ran 2 credit crd companies 2 about 12,000, and to pay one off I cut a deal with amex to pay 5,000 instead of 8,000 and In 2 months. I saved every penny and paid off amex so I didnt have to pay the extra 3,000. But while doing so I put off my other bills such as my car payments, other credit cards, and student school loans. Then finally after the 2 months I payed amex and then payed my other bills to catch up but now I lost my job and then now iam 2 months behind again. Does this effect me in anyway? Also what agencies in the us are the easiest to get into becaue I am willing to move anywhere to get a police posistion, because my dream is to be a cop. because I also got in trouble with the law for 2 misdemanors but they got dropped to a violation and the other was dropped totally and I know they will look into this.

I'm not a police officer yet so I can't really speak from experience but from what I've heard most departments want you to be current on all of your bills and to have a relatively low debt to income ratio. There are quite a few posts on this site about the same topic if you need more info.
I was worried about that myself because I was laid off from my last job due to downsizing and it took me a while to find another. I managed to stay current on all of my bills but it was tough.

Your finances should be in order and current. As for how long you have been a good payee and what the acceptable standards are, are different for each PD. They also look at your credit like and bank would and make sure you are capable of making your payments with the amount of income you receive.(debt via income). You can understand why....
