I'm pretty sure that all the departments will not let you on with a prior felony conviction. I do know that some correctional facilties will hire you when your felony is at least ten years old. I read back in 1990 when I was thinking about applying to Washinton DC police that they were not checking juvi records and the fact was they were hiring alot of people who had felony conviction in their juvi pass. Made the news and everything. I had state trooper friend tell me they went to the academy and arrest a cadet that had a warrant in NY. I believe that your going to have some serious problems getting hired. I'd recommend calling the recruiters and ask them, they will tell you where you stand. This is one case of what you did yesterday will haunt you for the rest of your life. Good LUck

dragon--Regretfully, I have to agree with Drakor has posted about your situation. I am not aware of any LE agency that will hire someone with a felony conviction as a police officer. What can you do otherwise about your situation? Probably not much.....Maybe there are some legal remedies that may help you out there but you'd have to consult with an attorney to see if there are any options available to you. I am glad to see that you have apparently turned your life around but this is something that is very likely going to follow you around for the rest of your life. As the old saying goes, "Hind sight is always 20/20." Charlie
