im a student and am looking to pursue a career in law enforcement as a state trooper. This was what I always wanted since I was younger and I have finally decided that it is what I am going to do. Im in my junior year in high school and im starting to look at colleges... now my question is what kind of courses should I be taking to prepare me for my future. Is there anything else besides criminal justice I should be taking? Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated!

You can go with criminal justice......yawn. I'm not saying its a bad thing but you can pretty much get a degree in anything you want . Science is a good degree for those long nights in Forensics. Psychology is good or maybe Social Science and with computers over running every aspect of our lives. Computer Science maybe the way to go. It all depends on what you want. I would recommend you go into the cadet program while in school, you can go wrong with that program and you be that much ahead in the game. Good Luck

I would reccommend getting a degree that you will be able to fall back on in the event that law enforcement does not work out for you. I'm not saying that you won't succeed, but it is a good idea to have something that you would be able to go into if becoming a cop doesn't happen.
