I have working towards applying for CPS, but I still have one major concern. I am 5'9", 160 lbs. Not the biggest guy around, but I can hold my own. Someone just told me recently that there is a size factor they look at, and that I wouldn't cut it. Anyone out there hear any different? PLEASE let me know.

I have never heard of such a thing. I have seen many CPS members who were not all that big. Whoever told you that sounds out to lunch.

That's is NOT and issue with CPS. I've had females respond to calls that were 5'2" and MAYBE 110lbs.
It's one of those rumors that people who know everything about anything like to spread. Just like you have to be bilingual and an accoplished horse rider to get into tthe RCMP.

Thanks guys. I wasn't that worried, but its always good for the confidence to have reassuring comments like that. I appreciate it. I am gonna take the PARE NOv. 23, then put my app in the next week after.

you mean you don't have to know how to ride a horse? lol.. ive heard that one alot....most likely came from an individual who couldn't cut it or didn't meet standards.

I'm 5"7 so I always get stuff like "isn't there a height restriction?". It's funny, if your trying to be a doctor or a biologist, no one says a thing, but everyone thinks thry know what it takes to be a cop. Keep at it, I've just been told I'm on the inside track for starting this May! If you've got ambition and some related experience, that's way more useful that an extra 6 inches and 40 pounds. Good luck!

Hey everybody,
My background has started in K div and i am currently working on completely the medical end of things. Should be in Depot by the end of the summer if things go smoothly. Is there anyone else in K div that is close to being done and waiting for the call?
