Jeepin, all I can say is good luck buddy, you're gonna need it. By the way, don't assume we're all "gentlemen", women (like myself) do become cops too. And another thing, if you do make it depot I hope you can become a team with all the low lifes and inferior troop mates that have been "scraped from the bottom" of the barrel. You sound like a really great guy and a real team player. If you really knew anything about the process, you would understand that candidates wait different lengths of time depending on what time of year it is (summer vacations etc),what province they are from (workload), what bloc you are in, and generally how many troops they are pushing through at a particular point. Congrats on your university degree, I'm assuming it's not in PUBLIC RELATIONS!.

jeepin, I'm sure all the applicants who's process is taking a long time will be glad to know that they are being "scraped from the bottom". At first I thought you were just a confident person but its becoming obvious that you have put yourself on a pedestal and that nobody lives up to your standards. If you do make it to depot it won't be hard to figure who "jeepin" is, you'll be the guy sitting alone wondering why the rest of the troop who has been "scraped from the bottom " don't want to have anything to do with you. Good luck with VPD hopefully their process is much faster than the RCMP.

Jeepin - best of luck getting past the psych evaluations if your everyday demeanour is reflected by your posts. You say that you are "not trying to sound arrogant", but you certainly come off as sounding arrogant and uninformed by immediately dismissing the experiences and knowledge obtained by those who have come before you (i.e. Marcus); not to mention the egotistical tone of suggesting that RCMP grads are "being scraped from the bottom" if their process has taken the average wait time of 18-24 months. I am sure that Jamaf's troop would be very disappointed to learn that the RCMP selected them simply because they were desperate for qualified applicants.
You should call RCMP recruiting and give them hell for not giving you your badge and serge yet. This should speed the process along to its inevitable conclusion.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the recruiters tell EVERYONE in the info sessions that they should expect a 12-18 month wait to complete the application process...

The first thing you learn about being in uniform is that once you put it on, you're all equal. Once (If?) you get to Depot, I'm sure that there will one or two areas that you won't be the best at. Perhaps you might need your troopmates to help you pass a test...Think that they'll be tripping over themselves to help you, after you disrespect them with comments like that?
Jeepin, for someone who is educated and experienced (as you have mentioned numerous times) you seem to have the attitude of a person right out of high school. Have you volunteered in your community (besides the auxiliary)? It will open your eyes and maybe give you a lesson in humility.
By the way, if you want to make it to Detective, Inspector, and higher, you might want to improve your spelling and grammar. Crown Attorneys hate reports that are littered with mistakes.

Well, we can sure rip apart someone if they say the wrong thing!
It is interesting how people responded to Jeepins comments (including me). With the resounding response that was received, I think Jeepin will do some self-examiniation and learn from others opinions.
The "I am better than you" attitude is sooooo not needed in policing. I prefer a boss that can relate and be personable with you, not the "here are the rules" and"don't piss me off" type of boss.
