Thanks for your support Drakor.
Thanks to Jay and JimCMR for providing a place where all police applicants can post, ask questions and discuss issues be it RCMP or any USA force.

At the Chattanooga Police Department, there is an extensive physical agility test that one must go through while in the application process. There are 5 parts to the entire Ability test and you must get a 50% to pass. The first part of the test is the Obstical course. This is a very extensive course that is timed. And you will receive a certain number of points depending on the time that you completed the course in.
The second part of the test is the push-ups test. 17 or less in one minute will fail you. To get a good score (46+) you will get 30 points.
The third part is the sit-ups test. Also a one minutes timed test, one sit-up per second will get you a good score.
The fourth part of the test is the pull-up test. This is not a timed test, but the highest score you can get is a 10. And that gets you 10 points.
The fifth, and final part of the test is the 440 yard run which must be completed in 1:49 to pass. If you don't make it in that time, you will not be considered for the job. And this is the kicker. Because you do all these tests right after another, and by the time you get to this one, you are extremely tired.
For Chattanooga, if you don't get it the first time, you can reschedule and come back a short time later. But it is a very difficult test. And the Academy is even more physically demanding. Chattanooga has a 6 month, 2 week academy that is very extensive. Half is physical, half is educational. Hope this helps!

Heys guys and gals, I was just going thru the boards and read about the PT standards you are facing. My academy requires that we do: 100 push-ups, 1pt each 100 sit-ups, " 20 pull-ups, 5pts each 1.5 mile in 10 mins. or less 5yd approach, 6' wall climb, 25yd run away 165lbs. body drag 32ft. then we have to be able to do agency requirements on top of that. By the way I'm in California.
